Chemokine ligand 17 pseudogene

The chemokine ligand 17 pseudogene (ENSG00000262008) is a non-functional copy of the gene encoding chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 17 (CCL17), also known as thymus and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC)[3]. Pseudogenes resemble their parent genes in sequence but typically have mutations, insertions, deletions, or other features that prevent them from producing functional proteins or RNAs. Some pseudogenes can have regulatory effects on gene expression, but most are considered functionally inactive. They are not considered drug targets or relevant for therapeutic intervention[1][3].
