Target intelligence / Profile preview
Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) antigens refer to the viral proteins recognized by the host immune system, particularly the structural proteins: Capsid, E1, and E2. These antigens are targets for diagnostic assays, vaccine development, and therapeutic antibody research. E1 and E2 are envelope glycoproteins mediating cell entry and are major targets for neutralizing antibodies. The capsid protein forms the core of the virion. Persistent viral antigen presence is associated with chronic symptoms after acute infection.
