Chitinase, acidic pseudogene 3 (CHIAP3) is annotated as a pseudogene in the human genome, closely related to the chitinase gene family, specifically the glycoside hydrolase family 18 that includes active enzymes such as acidic mammalian chitinase (CHIA) and chitotriosidase (CHIT1). However, for CHIAP3, it is not a valid therapeutic or molecular target.
