CHMP5 pseudogene 1 (CHMP5P1)

Target

Overview

CHMP5 pseudogene 1 (CHMP5P1) is a genomic DNA region homologous to the protein-coding gene CHMP5. As a pseudogene, it does not produce a functional protein and lacks evidence of cellular activity, disease relevance, biological function, or classification as a therapeutic target. The protein-coding CHMP5 is a component of the ESCRT-III machinery, crucial for endosomal trafficking, signal transduction, and transcriptional regulation, particularly in cancer biology (for example, in T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia), but CHMP5P1 itself has no known function or clinical significance[4][5][2][1][3].
