Cholera toxin B subunit (CTB) is a non-toxic component of the cholera toxin produced by *Vibrio cholerae*. It forms a homopentameric structure and binds to GM1 gangliosides on cell membranes, facilitating the delivery of the toxic A subunit into target cells. CTB is widely used as a research tool for neuronal tracing, lipid raft marking, and as a vaccine adjuvant due to its immunogenic properties.
