CSGALNACT2P1 is a pseudogene derived from the chondroitin sulfate N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2 (CSGALNACT2) gene. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are non-functional; they do NOT encode active proteins and generally have no known biological activity. The functional gene, CSGALNACT2, encodes a glycosyltransferase enzyme involved in elongation during chondroitin sulfate biosynthesis, but CSGALNACT2P1 lacks this enzymatic function and is not implicated as a gene product involved in any biochemical pathway or disease. There are no known drugs, mechanisms, or disease associations related to this pseudogene.
