Overview

Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 4 pseudogene 10 (CSPG4P10) is a processed pseudogene genomically related to the protein-coding gene CSPG4, which is also known as neuron-glial antigen 2 and is highly expressed in various cancers[1]. CSPG4P10 does not encode a functional protein but may be transcribed into noncoding RNA. Pseudogenes like CSPG4P10 can regulate their parental genes by acting as competing endogenous RNAs, influencing cell proliferation, migration, and cancer-related pathways. There is extensive evidence that some CSPG4-derived pseudogenes (e.g., CSPG4P12) can act as tumor suppressors or oncogenes by modulating microRNA activity[1][2]. There is no direct evidence or peer-reviewed research describing the biological function, disease relevance, or druggability of CSPG4P10 itself.
