Chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 4 pseudogene 13 (CSPG4P13) is a non-functional pseudogene related to the CSPG4 gene[2]. It is primarily characterized by its lack of protein-coding capability and is annotated as a pseudogene in major gene databases[2]. While some pseudogenes play regulatory roles, such as acting as microRNA decoys, no specific function or clinical relevance has been described for CSPG4P13[1][4]. In transcriptomic profiling, CSPG4P13 has been identified as a downregulated pseudogene in certain mesenchymal stromal cell populations from emphysema patients, but the biological consequences of this are presently unknown[1]. There are no known disease associations, pharmacological agents, or therapeutic functions directly linked to CSPG4P13[1][2][3].
