Overview

Chromodomain Y-linked 10 pseudogene (CDY10P) is a pseudogene located on the human Y chromosome[2][5]. It is classified as a member of the chromodomain Y gene family, a group of genes including both protein-coding genes and pseudogenes, typically found on the Y chromosome and primarily expressed in the testis[8][7]. Pseudogenes such as CDY10P do not encode functional proteins, but emerging research has shown that some pseudogenes can play regulatory roles through their RNA transcripts, influencing the expression of their protein-coding relatives by acting as microRNA sponges or competing endogenous RNAs[11]. However, there is currently no evidence that CDY10P functions as a therapeutic target, nor is there any known involvement in any disease state, drug interactions, or clinical biomarker applications[2][5].
