Target intelligence / Profile preview
The Chromodomain Y-Linked 6 Pseudogene (CDY6P) is a non-coding pseudogene found on the human Y chromosome. It is part of the chromodomain Y-linked gene family, which originated via retrotransposition and gene duplication events. Unlike its coding relatives, CDY6P does not produce a protein and is not implicated in any known physiological function or disease mechanism. Pseudogenes in general may exert regulatory effects on gene expression through RNA transcript interactions, but no such function has been documented for CDY6P. It is not considered a molecular target for therapeutic intervention and lacks associated drugs, disease links, or biomarker status.
