Chromosome 1 open reading frame 115 (C1orf115) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a protein involved in the regulation of drug efflux, specifically modulating localization and activity of the drug transporter ABCB1 (also known as P-glycoprotein)[1][6][7]. The protein has been shown to be present in 9+0 non-motile cilia and is implicated in modulating cellular responses to drugs, potentially affecting drug resistance[6][7]. There is currently no evidence indicating that C1orf115 is a direct therapeutic target (such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, etc.), nor are there specific drugs known to interact with this protein or mechanisms of action for targeting it.
