Target intelligence / Profile preview
Chromosome 1 open reading frame 146 pseudogene (ENSG00000249904) is a nonfunctional DNA sequence on human chromosome 1 that shows sequence homology to a presumed ancestral gene but does not encode a functional protein product. As a pseudogene, it may be transcribed to RNA at very low levels but does not participate in known biological pathways or disease processes. Pseudogenes can occasionally complicate genetic analyses due to sequence similarity to active genes but do not possess biological or pharmacological relevance in drug development or therapy.
