Overview
Chromosome 11 open reading frame 68 (C11orf68) is an RNA-binding protein that has been implicated in the invasiveness and metastasis of various cancer types, including breast, liver, and prostate cancer. Epigenetic studies have demonstrated that upregulation of this gene is part of a hypomethylation signature distinguishing invasive cancer cells, and knockdown of C11orf68 reduces cellular invasion, suggesting it could be a promising therapeutic target in cancer. However, its normal biological function remains poorly characterized and is under continued investigation.
