CHUK-DT (CHUK divergent transcript) is a long non-coding RNA arising from the genomic region immediately upstream (in the divergent orientation) to the CHUK (also known as IKKα) gene. Divergent non-coding transcripts such as CHUK-DT are generated from the opposite strand relative to a protein-coding gene promoter and are a widespread feature of mammalian gene regulation, often associated with promoters of genes involved in transcriptional regulation and development[3][4][5]. These divergent RNAs generally do not encode proteins and their precise biological roles remain poorly understood; in many cases, they may participate in local chromatin modification or transcriptional regulation, but CHUK-DT itself has not been firmly linked to any disease or functional process. Summary of key issues: - CHUK-DT is not a protein, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or canonical drug target. - It is considered a non-coding RNA; no evidence supports a direct therapeutic, biomarker, or disease link. - The entry may arise from automated annotation of divergent transcripts during transcriptomic analysis and should not be confused with CHUK/IKKα, which is a bona fide kinase and drug target.
