Churchill domain containing protein 1 (CHURC1)

Target
CHURC1
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, Developmental protein
01

Overview

Churchill domain containing protein 1 (CHURC1) is a zinc finger-containing transcriptional activator that mediates fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling during neural development and has a role in regulating cell movement. It does not bind DNA directly and is believed to function via protein-protein interactions within the cell nucleus, contributing to neural tissue patterning and possibly other developmental processes[1][6][8]. There is no current evidence supporting its use as a direct therapeutic target, nor are there known drugs, clinical biomarkers, or safety challenges related to direct targeting of CHURC1 in medicine.
