Cilia- and flagella- associated protein 210 (CFAP210) is a microtubule inner protein (MIP) located in the axoneme of motile cilia and flagella, specifically forming part of the dynein-decorated doublet microtubules (DMTs). This protein is essential for the structure and function of motile cilia, required for their beating, and contributes to flagellated sperm motility. CFAP210 is a structural protein, not classically categorized as a receptor, enzyme, or ion channel. There is currently no evidence that CFAP210 is a therapeutic target, nor have drugs been developed to modulate its function. The gene is referenced in large genetic screens and disease association databases but is not a focus for biomarker usage, drug interaction, or safety profile in current clinical or translational research.
