Cilia- and flagella-associated protein 107 (CFAP107) is a microtubule inner protein (MIP) localized to the axonemal doublet microtubules of motile cilia, where it contributes to the structural integrity and function necessary for ciliary and flagellar beating[5][8]. It is critical for the movement of flagellated sperm and the proper motility of cilia[6][7], but is not currently recognized as a therapeutic target, nor are any drugs reported to interact with it. The gene is located on chromosome 1 in humans and is highly conserved across species, indicating a fundamental role in cellular motility mechanisms[1][3][6].
