Target intelligence / Profile preview
Cilia and flagella associated protein 96 (CFAP96) is a protein conserved among vertebrates and some unicellular eukaryotes, localized to the centrosome and cytoplasmic microtubules, and involved in the structure and function of cilia and flagella[3]. While its precise biochemical function is not fully elucidated, CFAP96 is predicted to contribute to microtubule organization and stability in ciliated cells. Research on its role in disease or as a therapeutic target is limited; currently, it is not recognized as a direct drug or therapeutic target[3][4].
