**Ciliary microtubule associated protein 1C (CIMAP1C)** is a cytoskeletal protein encoded by the CIMAP1C gene located at chromosome 15q24.2 in humans[1][4]. It is also known as ODF3L1, outer dense fiber protein 3-like protein 1, and several other aliases. The protein comprises 274 amino acids, is highly basic, proline-rich, tyrosine-rich, and contains proline-glycine repeat regions conserved primarily across mammals and reptiles. It is imported into the nucleus via nuclear localization signals and found within the cytoskeleton. High expression is restricted to testes, with lower expression elsewhere, and it has phosphorylation sites for protein kinase C and casein kinase II[1]. Experimentally, CIMAP1C interacts with STAMBP, linking it potentially to cell surface receptor endocytosis and ubiquitin-dependent receptor sorting[1][2]. There are no known paralogs. CIMAP1C is not a recognized therapeutic target (receptor, enzyme, transporter), but higher protein levels serve as positive prognostic biomarkers in papillary thyroid carcinoma and non-metastatic breast cancer patients[1].
