Overview

CIR1 pseudogene 3 (CIR1P3), also called corepressor interacting with RBPJ, 1 pseudogene 3, is a processed human pseudogene located on chromosome 11p13[1][3]. As a pseudogene, CIR1P3 does not encode a functional protein but is derived from its parent gene (CIR1, corepressor interacting with RBPJ, 1). Pseudogenes like CIR1P3 can have biological roles at the RNA level, such as acting as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) by binding microRNAs, which in turn may influence gene regulation[4][5]. Although some pseudogene transcripts are implicated in modulating cellular processes and may correlate with disease phenotypes such as cancer, there is no direct evidence that CIR1P3 itself is a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or used as a clinical biomarker[1][3][2]. Therefore, CIR1P3 is classified as a noncoding pseudogene with potential regulatory relevance but not considered a drug target or therapeutic entity.
