Clathrin-binding box of aftiphilin-containing protein 1 (CLBA1) is a protein encoded by the *CLBA1* gene on human chromosome 14. It is predicted to play a role in intracellular transport through **clathrin binding** and to function as part of the **AP-1 adaptor complex**, mainly active at the **trans-Golgi network membrane**. The protein remains functionally uncharacterized, with no experimental evidence establishing its role in disease, therapeutics, or as a drug target[1][3][5][9][11]. Its classification as a member of the aftiphilin-like family is based on sequence similarity[7], and no known ligands, biomarkers, or clinical implications have been described.
