Target intelligence / Profile preview
Clathrin heavy chain linker domain containing 1 (CLHC1) encodes a protein predicted to contain the clathrin heavy chain linker domain, according to InterPro domain annotations[2]. Unlike canonical clathrin heavy chain (CLTC, CLTCL1), which participates in the formation of clathrin-coated vesicles and plays key roles in endocytosis, membrane trafficking, and mitosis[1][3], CLHC1’s biological function, disease involvement, and therapeutic relevance remain largely unknown. CLHC1 is associated with neuromuscular disease, but its mechanistic role and significance require further study[4]. There is no evidence in current sources that CLHC1 is considered a drug target, biomarker, or presents specific safety concerns.
