Overview
Claudin-18.2 (CLDN18.2) is an isoform of the claudin-18 protein, a key component of tight junctions in epithelial cells. Its expression is normally restricted to gastric mucosal cells, but it is frequently overexpressed or aberrantly exposed on cell surfaces in gastrointestinal cancers, making it an attractive therapeutic target for antibody-based therapies.
