Target intelligence / Profile preview
Claudin domain-containing protein 2 (CLDND2) is a predicted membrane protein whose specific biological function and disease role are not clearly characterized in current literature[7]. The available functional genomics data do not provide evidence that CLDND2 is an established therapeutic target or involved in well-defined physiological or pathological pathways[7]. It should not be confused with Claudin-2 (CLDN2), which is a pore-forming tight junction protein with established roles in epithelial barrier homeostasis and disease processes[1][2][4][6]. For CLDND2, there currently is insufficient evidence to classify it as a receptor, ion channel, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor, nor as a therapeutic target. If targeting this protein is intended, further validation and characterization in experimental literature would be required.
