Target intelligence / Profile preview
CPSF3 is a critical subunit of the cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor (CPSF) complex, which is essential for the maturation of pre-messenger RNA (pre-mRNA) in eukaryotic cells. Specifically, CPSF3 functions as an endonuclease that recognizes and cleaves the 3' end of pre-mRNA at a defined site, enabling subsequent addition of the poly(A) tail—a key step in mRNA processing. Overexpression or dysregulation has been linked to cell cycle arrest and prognosis in certain cancers.
