Overview
CLEC12A antisense RNA 1 (CLEC12A-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located at chromosome 12p13.31. Its RNA transcript is transcribed antisense to the CLEC12A protein-coding gene, and as with other antisense lncRNAs, it may have regulatory roles, possibly modulating the expression of nearby genes such as CLEC12A. However, there is currently no published functional or disease association, no known interacting drugs, and no evidence that it is a direct therapeutic target or biomarker. Its identification in genomic databases confirms its existence as a lncRNA but not its function or importance in human disease or therapy[6].
