Overview

CLLU1 antisense RNA 1 (CLLU1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on chromosome 12, transcribed from the opposite strand of the CLLU1 gene. It is part of the antisense RNA class, which regulates gene expression by various mechanisms, including interference with transcription or chromatin remodeling. CLLU1-AS1 does not encode a functional protein, but its expression has been linked to chronic lymphocytic leukemia and possibly other malignancies, suggesting a potential, though not well-characterized, regulatory or pathogenic role. Its exact biological and clinical impact remains under active investigation, and there is currently no evidence that it is a direct target of any approved therapeutic drugs[1][3][5].
