Target intelligence / Profile preview
ClpX caseinolytic protease X homolog pseudogene is a non-functional genomic locus that shares sequence similarity with the CLPX gene, which encodes an ATP-dependent mitochondrial chaperone/unfoldase involved in the degradation of misfolded or damaged proteins in mitochondria. This pseudogene does not produce a functional protein and therefore does not participate in mitochondrial proteostasis or cellular metabolism, and it is not a target for pharmacological intervention.[2]
