Overview

CLSTN2 antisense RNA 1 (CLSTN2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand at the CLSTN2 locus. Like other antisense RNAs, it may regulate the expression of its sense gene (CLSTN2), which encodes a synaptic adhesion molecule involved in synapse assembly and neurological processes[1][4]. Antisense RNAs can modulate gene expression post-transcriptionally by hybridizing to complementary mRNA, thereby affecting translation, splicing, or stability[1]. However, no direct functional data or disease associations have been reported for CLSTN2-AS1. It is not considered a classical therapeutic target, nor does it have known drugs or biomarker uses at this time.
