Cluster of Differentiation 19 Antigen (CD19)

Target
CD19
Molecular classification
Type I transmembrane glycoprotein, Immunoglobulin superfamily, Receptor
01

Overview

Cluster of Differentiation 19 antigen (CD19) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on all B-lineage cells. It functions as a co-receptor to amplify B-cell receptor signaling and is a key therapeutic target for CAR-T cell therapies in B cell malignancies. Its restricted expression makes it invaluable both diagnostically—especially via flow cytometry—and therapeutically—as an established CAR-T therapy target against certain leukemias.
