CD7 is a transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is primarily expressed on thymocytes, mature T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, as well as early-stage B and myeloid progenitor cells. It plays a role in immune cell development, T-cell activation, and acts as a costimulatory molecule. Abnormal expression patterns are clinically relevant in T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL), Mycosis Fungoides/Sezary Syndrome, and Refractory Anemia With Excess Blasts (RAEB).
