Overview

CMRF35-like molecule 1 receptor (CD300LF) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, primarily expressed on myeloid cells such as mast cells, monocytes, macrophages, and some dendritic cells[3][4]. It acts as an inhibitory immune receptor by transmitting signals through cytoplasmic ITIM motifs, thus downregulating inflammatory responses and preventing overactivation of immune cells. CD300LF is involved in the recognition and phagocytosis of apoptotic cells via binding to phospholipids like phosphatidylserine. In mice, CD300LF is the principal cellular receptor for murine norovirus, mediating viral entry by direct protein–protein interaction, and this process requires specific extracellular domains of CD300LF[1][2]. The human ortholog likely participates in similar regulatory functions but is not documented as a viral receptor. There are currently no approved therapeutic agents that directly target CD300LF; its role is principally of preclinical and immunological interest.
