CNNM3 divergent transcript (CNNM3-DT; LOC100506036) is a long non-coding RNA gene transcribed from a locus divergent to the protein-coding CNNM3 gene on human chromosome 2 (2q11.2)[3][1]. Like other genes named with the "-DT" suffix, it is a non-coding RNA transcribed in the opposite direction of its protein-coding neighbor[7]. There is currently no evidence that CNNM3-DT encodes a protein product or acts as a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or known cell surface molecule. Its function, clinical relevance, and roles in disease remain uncharacterized in the scientific literature. If you are seeking information on the CNNM3 protein (Metal transporter CNNM3, Cyclin M3), it is a magnesium transporter with proposed roles in magnesium homeostasis and cancer[2][4][6]; however, CNNM3-DT is a distinct non-coding transcript and not the protein itself.
