Overview

CNPY2 antisense RNA 1 (CNPY2-AS1) is a human long noncoding RNA gene located on chromosome 12. It is transcribed on the opposite strand to the protein-coding CNPY2 gene and does not encode a protein[5]. As of now, there are no published functional studies specifically addressing the biological role of CNPY2-AS1, its involvement in disease, its utility as a diagnostic or therapeutic target, or its interactions with drugs. Its annotation in genomic databases is supported, but it remains uncharacterized in biomedical literature beyond basic sequence and location information. If the intent is to seek information on a druggable target or receptor, the protein CNPY2 (canopy homolog 2) should be investigated instead, as it has documented roles in cell survival, ER stress regulation, angiogenesis, and certain cancers[1][3][4][6].
