CNTFR antisense RNA 1 (CNTFR-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene transcribed from the DNA opposite to the ciliary neurotrophic factor receptor (CNTFR) locus. While CNTFR is a classical cytokine receptor involved in neurotrophic signaling, CNTFR-AS1 itself does not encode a protein but appears to participate in gene regulatory networks, potentially by modulating CNTFR expression or interacting with other molecular partners[10][4].
