CNTNAP3 pseudogene 5 (CNTNAP3P5)

CNTNAP3 pseudogene 5 (CNTNAP3P5) is a genomic region classified as a pseudogene of the contactin associated protein family member 3 (CNTNAP3). Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to known genes but typically lack protein-coding potential or regulated biological function. Although some pseudogenes may be transcribed or, in rare cases, translated into peptides[5], the vast majority do not contribute directly to cellular function or serve as therapeutic targets.
