Overview

Cockroach allergen proteins are a group of molecules found in cockroaches (e.g., *Blattella germanica*) that trigger allergic immune reactions. Major allergens include Bla g 1 (a lipid-binding protein), Bla g 2 (an aspartic proteinase-like protein), and others. Exposure to these allergens is a significant risk factor for asthma and other respiratory diseases. Some cockroach extracts also contain serine proteases that can activate PAR2, contributing to airway inflammation.
