Target intelligence / Profile preview
Cofilin 1 pseudogene 6 (CFL1P6) is a human pseudogene related to the functional cofilin 1 gene (CFL1). Unlike the CFL1 gene, which encodes an actin-binding protein involved in actin filament dynamics[1][2], CFL1P6 does not code for a functional protein product. Pseudogenes like CFL1P6 typically result from the duplication or retrotransposition of the original gene, followed by the accumulation of disabling mutations, rendering them transcriptionally or translationally inactive[4]. There is no evidence that CFL1P6 serves as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or gene of pharmacological interest.
