Cofilin 1 pseudogene 7 (CFL1P7) is classified as a pseudogene, i.e., a DNA sequence related to the functional CFL1 gene (Cofilin 1) but does not produce a functional protein. Pseudogenes like CFL1P7 are generally considered non-functional remnants of genes and do not serve as direct therapeutic targets, nor do they play active roles in cellular or disease processes. The functional gene, CFL1, encodes the actin-binding protein cofilin 1, which is crucial for actin cytoskeleton remodeling, cell motility, cytokinesis, and neuronal signaling; however, these biological activities **do not apply** to the pseudogene CFL1P7[2][4][1]. There is no evidence that CFL1P7 has any established role as a biomarker, disease gene, or interacting partner for approved drugs.
