Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 14 is an eukaryotic protein typically between 301 and 912 amino acids in length, localized to centriolar satellites and the ciliary basal body. It negatively regulates centriole duplication, mainly by affecting the localization of centrosomal proteins such as CEP63 and CDK2, and ensures proper centrosome and cilia function. CCDC14 is implicated in rare genetic conditions including Noonan syndrome 1 and autosomal dominant congenital myopathy but is not currently considered a direct therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter. Its function is primarily structural and regulatory within the centrosome and cilia-related processes.
