Overview

Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 152 is a member of the coiled-coil domain-containing protein family. These proteins typically participate in cellular functions such as structural organization, molecular recognition, and regulation of gene expression. CCDC152 has been shown in in vitro studies (chicken ortholog) to participate in cell cycle regulation, suppress cell proliferation, and inhibit cell migration—potentially via modulation of the JAK2/STAT signaling pathway[1]. CCDC152 is regulated at the transcriptional level by nuclear transcription factor Y subunit beta (NFYB), and it is situated head-to-head with the GHR antisense transcript, sharing a bidirectional promoter[1]. The molecular function in humans remains uncharacterized; no evidence currently supports its role as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or mediator in clinically relevant diseases[5][3][7].
