Target intelligence / Profile preview
Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 86 (CCDC86) is a human protein that contains a coiled-coil structural motif and is required for proper chromosome segregation during mitosis and error-free mitotic progression. Functional annotation links it with RNA binding and core mitotic processes. CCDC86 is not currently considered a classical drug target (such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or ion channel), and there is no established role in specific diseases, interacting drugs, or biomarker applications. It is primarily of interest as a fundamental component of chromosome dynamics in dividing cells.
