Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 9B (CCDC9B)

Coiled-coil domain-containing protein 9B (CCDC9B) is a protein encoded by the CCDC9B gene (HGNC: 33488, located at chromosome 15q15.1), also known as C15orf52 or FLJ43339[5][7]. This protein contains a coiled-coil domain, often linked with protein-protein interactions. Although its precise biochemical functions remain poorly characterized, evidence suggests CCDC9B participates in protein and RNA remodeling complexes and can bind RNA[1][5][7]. Research indicates that the methylation status of its mRNA, regulated by the RNA methyltransferase NSUN7, influences stability and expression of CCDC9B in liver cells, with downstream effects on associated proteins such as IVNS1ABP and possibly MYC regulatory pathways[1].
