Overview

Coiled-Coil Serine Rich Protein 2 (CCSER2) is a microtubule-binding protein encoded by the CCSER2 gene. It is predicted to play a role in microtubule bundling and is located in the cytoplasm associated with the cytoskeleton. CCSER2 belongs to a family of coiled-coil domain-containing proteins, which generally function in intracellular organization and spacing. While coiled-coil proteins as a class can influence organelle architecture and are implicated in cytoskeletal dynamics, there is no evidence that CCSER2 itself is a current therapeutic target, nor are there known disease roles, interacting drugs, or safety concerns specific to this molecule. Alternative names are FAM190B and KIAA1128, and CCSER2 is distinct from similarly named proteins such as RSRC2 (Arginine And Serine Rich Coiled-Coil 2).
