Target intelligence / Profile preview
COL1A2 antisense RNA 1 (COL1A2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed antisense to the COL1A2 gene locus. While COL1A2 encodes a key chain of type I collagen involved in connective tissue structure and disease, COL1A2-AS1 itself does not encode a protein. It is hypothesized to regulate COL1A2 expression at the RNA level, but its biological roles, disease relevance, and therapeutic potential remain unstudied or unclear in the scientific literature.
