Target intelligence / Profile preview
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, “cold-dampness dispersion” (sometimes called expelling cold and dampness) is a therapeutic approach rather than a physical target. The cold-dampness pattern describes a syndrome in which the body suffers from impeded flow of Qi and blood due1 to the presence of both cold and damp pathogenic factors. Symptoms often include joint or muscle pain, heaviness, swelling, stiffness, and fatigue, generally worsening in cold or humid environments. Treatment focuses on dispersing cold and damp, warming the Yang, and restoring flow, primarily using herbal formulas and acupuncture. The concept is diagnostic and interventional, but it does not equate to any molecular entity, gene, protein, receptor, or direct biological target[2][3][5][6][10].
