Cold shock domain-containing protein C2 (CSDC2) is an RNA-binding protein encoded by the *CSDC2* gene in humans[1][2][6][7]. It specifically binds to the 3'-UTR of certain mRNAs, such as those for histone H1 and H3.3, and is implicated in regulating mRNA stability and gene expression, including histone variant synthesis in the developing brain[1][2]. CSDC2 displays distinct subcellular localization associated with cellular differentiation and proliferation, for instance in the endometrium during decidualization[3][5]. Experimental evidence links altered CSDC2 expression to regulation of reproductive differentiation, hair follicle cycling in skin, and as part of RNA-binding protein signatures predictive of cancer recurrence, suggesting its potential as a disease biomarker[2]. No evidence identifies CSDC2 as a classical therapeutic target or receptor, nor are there known drugs or mechanisms of action directly targeting it[1][2][7].
