Coli Surface Antigen 3 (CS3)

Target
CS3
Molecular classification
Fibrillar protein, Colonization Factor Antigen
01

Overview

CS3 is a fibrillar colonization factor expressed on the surface of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC). It mediates adhesion to human intestinal epithelial cells, facilitating colonization and subsequent toxin delivery that leads to diarrheal disease. It is a key target for vaccine development against ETEC.
