Colipase-like protein 2 (CLPSL2) is a predicted protein-coding gene product with homology to colipase, a pancreatic protein that acts as a cofactor for pancreatic lipase during dietary fat digestion[4]. While colipase is well studied as a co-enzyme facilitating lipid absorption, the function of colipase-like protein 2 remains uncharacterized in detail; it is predicted to enable enzyme activator activity and may be involved in the physiological response to food. CLPSL2 is a paralog of the CLPS (colipase) gene, and is predicted to localize to the extracellular region. No direct evidence supports CLPSL2 as a therapeutic target, nor are there known interacting drugs or mechanisms of action. Some associative evidence exists for a role in Good Syndrome, but further biological functions and clinical significance are largely unknown[4].
