Colonization Surface Antigen 2 (CS2)

Target
CS2
Molecular classification
Fimbrial protein, Adhesin
01

Overview

CS2 antigen is a fimbrial protein found on the surface of certain strains of enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC). It mediates adhesion between ETEC and human jejunal epithelial cells, facilitating bacterial colonization and subsequent infection.
